The bones, muscles, tendons, and other tissues that reach from the base of the skull to the tailbone. The spine encloses the spinal cord and the fluid surrounding the spinal cord. Also called backbone, spinal column, and vertebral column.
What does a whole spine MRI show?

MRI can show spinal abnormalities, injuries and disease that may not be seen with other methods. MRI is the best available method to visualize the spinal cord and nerves. MRI can detect abnormalities that might be obscured by bone with other imaging methods.
